Simple enough.ok, it is not.īut.is this basically excentric.no one is doing this in SL? I know in other games you go back and forth between baking and painting until it is all done. modelling mesh, make materials, make textures to help bump map materials and render. No, I will not be using a 3D scanner lol. I just don't have a tablet, don't feel like buying one and wish to enhance my skills with 3D. I like to work in 3D, not so much into teh tablet scribble method.though it is fast and looks good IF you can do that well. Then, bake that with even lighting and AO enabled.uh, then modify it in Gimp and maybe.well, maybe it might make clothes! But, I realised that many paint by hand via scribbling to lay down paint, blur/smudge and then bump, dodge and burn until it all looks right. I started making bits in blelnder to peice together some clothing to match to the avatar, render it and then projection paint it on the av mesh.

Zbrush, mudbox, shade or ANY 3d software to bake or at least get render source from? No one uses genetica for materials and only use photoshop plugins? How sad! Genetica has a great demo to!ģd Coat? It paints mesh.SL's avatar is mesh! PLus, you can always model up a piece and then clone paint from the render.ģD scanning? no one has a 3D scanner sitting around (ok, now I am joking again.but just a little this time!) and scanned a dress and made up a 3d model from that cloud of points and used this to make some model.render it and viola, something to clone from or warp onto the UV maps clothes makers paint over? No one says (hey, don't forget that tablet.ok, some actually do mention this) and no on mentions any other neat adventures.I mean, I never see "I made a texture by scanning a image I made using a print out of the avatar mesh and orrange peals arranged and was cruddy.but fun to try!" I mean.didn't anyone watch Heart Beat way back? No one wants to glue spegetti to some card and scan it to make images with? Ok, I am making fun of myself here.but lets get serious and stop making fun of me now. No one ever mentions baking when tools are mentioned. Much appreciated.OK, game artist people use at least the following: Camera/photosource, 3D materials baked/rendered, editing tools and possibly black magic.like, eye of newt? right? Lol.īesides, a Poser 4 "Dork" or a M2-P4 figure bending better than anything else around would be the ultimate proof how good Poser's rigging tools actually are.īut still thanks for trying to help. And I thought it would be cool to have a weightmapped figure still able to wear it. I just like the original Poser 4 clothing with it's elaborate geometry and fully sculpted, built in folds. This is just a stupid little side-project. I tried to run various scripts of your file, but my Poser 11 immediately crashes to desktop.īut no real problem, anyway. (I still posted here anyway as the Poser 11 forum is practically a ghosttown.

Then I'm on Poser 11 as I still use several Poser 11 scripts. Maybe to prevent people to do exactly what I'd like to do? I compared both welded objects and somehow during the re-shaping, DAZ added two vertices. Hi odf, thanks, but it doesn't seem to work.įirst, looks like I was wrong and M2 and M2P4 aren't EXACTLY the same mesh, as the polygon count is actually slightly different. Once I have all the morphs transfered into a modified M2P4 figure, I could easily transfer them back into the original one.

It's just the grouping and the winding order that are different.Īny Python script that could swap that data from one figure to the other? This would probably ramp up the exactness when letting Poser project the morphs.Īfter all M2 and M2P4 are the same mesh. I could try to "vacuform" M2P4 over M2 first. The old UV-Mapper trick doesn't work either, as when I try to inject M2's UV's (and the grouping info) into M2P4, I get the dreaded "incompatible facet structure" error. Poser's morph transfer / projection feature works "fairly" well, but I'd like to get better results.Ī direct morph transfer is not possible, as M2 and M2P4 are grouped differently. (The one that is shaped and rigged like the Poser 4 "Dork", so that he cam wear his clothing) I try to transfer the bodymorphs from Michael 2 over to the Michael 2-P4 legacy figure.
